Rainbow Gift Shop

Our Values

Family owned and centered: Building on the past to make a nostalgic space in a growing community

Our Roots

Rainbow Gift Shop first started in 1973 when Bill and Brenda Eaves moved to Pagosa Spring. Originally the gift shop was a small addition to the taxidermy business, where they created many of the items to sell. Brenda always felt a connection to the Native people and started trading fur and leather for jewelry and crafts. Throughout the years they expanded from the small outbuilding on the property to the old motel where the current gift area is located. Bill built a round, hogan styled building for Brenda’s Native American Artworks to be properly shown and eventually connected the two buildings. As the business changed and expanded, their children and grandchildren grew up in the store learning the value of hard work. Brenda is still running the store with the help of two of her grandchildren.

Who We Are

Despite growing up mostly in Texas and California, siblings Gene and Jamie felt a strong connection to Pagosa and the store where they spent their early childhood. Moving back, learning, and becoming involved with the family business was a way to preserve the legacy their grandparents built.

We strive to keep an eclectic mix of products and nostalgic feel while meeting the needs of our customers. The long term establishment of Rainbow Gift Shop allows us to pass on saving without any of the gimmicks of big box stores. We hope to keep the cozy feel, honest prices, and welcoming atmosphere Rainbow Gift Shop was built around.
